Clive Ansley -
LAWYER
Mr.
Ansley speaks and reads Chinese. He holds both undergraduate and
graduate degrees in Chinese Studies from the University of British
Columbia. He also holds an L.L.B degree from the University of Windsor
and an L.L.M. degree from the University of London.
As
a former professor of Chinese History, Civilization, and Law, Mr.
Ansley taught at the University of Windsor, the University of British
Columbia, the Law Faculty of Shanghai’s Fudan University, and the
Law Faculty of Shanghai’s Jiaotong University, Mr. Ansley is familiar
with both Canadian law and Chinese law. Practising since 1983, Mr.
Ansley has handled many criminal litigation cases in Canada, and
over 300 litigation cases in China.

Maggie (Min) Ma CERTIFIED CANADIAN IMMIGRATION CONSULTANT
Ms. Ma, who is fluent in both Chinese and English, graduated from the Dalian Institute of Foreign Languages in 1994 and received her B.A degree from that institution the same year, majoring in foreign trade. From 1995 to 1998, she taught “Contracting in Foreign Trade” at the Dalian Foreign Trade School. Ms. Ma joined the Bull Housser& Tupper Shanghai Representative Office in 1998, as the executive assistant to the Chief Representative/Resident Partner of the firm, Mr. Clive Ansley. She is familiar with Chinese legislation and the Chinese judicial system as it relates to foreign investment, intellectual property protection, and international education. When Mr. Ansley moved to the Shanghai office of the U.K. firm, Holman Fenwick & Willan Ms. Ma continued as his executive assistant, from 2001 to 2003.

Jason Nemeth -
LAWYER
Born in Nanaimo and raised in Parksville, B.C., Jason has been a resident of Vancouver Island most of his life. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts from Malaspina University-College (Now VIU) in 2004. He moved to Victoria soon after and attended law school at the University of Victoria, where he obtained an Bachelor of Laws in 2009. Jason then articled with Legal Services Society in Prince George, and was called to the bar in British Columbia in May of 2010. He began his practice with Jon M. Duncan Law in Prince George. Jason is happy to return to the Island as a resident of Courtenay and an associate at Ansley and Company. Having previously focused on family, child protection and criminal defence, Jason is looking forward to serving the Valley community on a wide range of legal issues.

Shannon Walters - LAWYER
Shannon grew up in Qualicum Beach, B.C. As the daughter of a commercial fisherman, she spent many of her summers working on the ocean and getting to see much of our beautiful West Coast.
Shannon obtained a Diploma in International Trade and Transportation at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, going on to complete her Bachelor of Business Administration degree through BCIT as well. Shortly thereafter, she attended law school at the University of British Columbia, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 2008. Shannon then articled in Vancouver at Acumen law Corporation, before being called to the bar in November of 2009. She began her practice at a busy personal injury firm in the lower mainland. Shannon has now joyfully returned to the Island, just recently moving to Courtenay and joining Ansley and Company in September of 2011. Shannon is pursuing a general practice, including; real estate law, wills and estates, and personal injury. Shannon enthusiastically looks forward to representing clients and meeting the needs of the community in these areas. |

Sandy Mizen - LEGAL ASSISTANT
Sandy moved to the Valley in 2006 from Barrie, Ontario. She has been employed with Ansley and Company since 2007.Sandy has a background in Hotel Management and Retail Management. She has completed the Conveyancing Course through North Island College
